Consecutive collisions due to truck brakes in Blong, 3 children who were carried by Grandpa Killed at the scene of the crime

SIMALUNGUN, KOMPAS.com – Pileup allegedly due to the brake failure of the container truck resulted in 5 people being killed and 5 others seriously injured.

The deadly accident occurred at Jalan Asahan KM 3.5, Nagori Dolok Marlawan, Siantar District, Regency Simalungun, Thursday (19/10/2020) morning around 09.30 WIB.

7 cars and 5 motorbikes were damaged

Head of Simalungun Police Headquarters, Ipda Ramadhan Siregar said the accident resulted in serious damage to at least 7 cars and 5 motorbikes.

“It is suspected that the cause of the accident was allegedly failed brakes and took the right lane and hit cars and motorbikes,” said Siregar when met at the scene.

For now, said Siregar, the temporary data collected by the Police are 5 people, 3 of whom are children and 2 adults.

While the victims who were seriously injured were 5 people.

The truck driver is running away

The victim was taken to the Forensic Room of the Djasamen Saragih Regional Hospital, while the injured victim was rushed to the Vita Insani Hospital, Pematangsiantar City.

“We ask for your cooperation, after this we will conduct a crime scene to find a bright spot for the cause of this accident. So we ask for your cooperation for the slightest information,” he said.

He explained that after the incident the driver who was driving the truck was not at the location. The police are currently searching for the Driver.

“While the driver is still running away. We are still looking for his identity,” he explained.

Seconds, three young brothers died at the scene of the crime

This accident also brought grief to the family of three children, aged 7, 6 and 3 years. The three victims were residents of Nagori Dolok Marlawan, Siantar District, Simalungun Regency.

Local resident, Marudut Nainggolan, said that the victim was picked up by his grandfather H Sidabutar (68) to return home.

The four victims rode motorbikes.

“They want to pick up their grandchildren to go home. The trucks come from the direction of Pematangsiantar. They also come from the same direction. The road trucks keep hitting them in front. The truck driver jumps,” said Marudut when met in the forensic mortuary installation room, Thursday.

Grandpa died in hospital

Meanwhile, H Sidabutar was seriously injured and was rushed to Vita Insani Hospital.

The victim was bleeding profusely and then breathed his last in the hospital.

Another death victim was Charles Sianipar (45), a resident of Jalan Bunga Zaitun, Siantar District, Simalungun Regency.
