“Don’t panic, read comics!”, The message of optimism from the Angoulême Festival postponed to June 2021

In exceptional situation, exceptional edition. For the first time in its history the Angoulême comic book festival will take place in the summer, from June 24 to 27, if the sanitary situation allows it. The winners on the other hand will be revealed as planned in January. The festival has just published its official selections in six categories. Forty-four albums are in the running this year for the prestigious Fauve d’Or.

Chaired by designer Emmanuel Guibert Grand Prix 2020, the jury of the main selection will award the traditional Fauve d’or, the prize for best album, as well as five other Fauve d’Angoulême, in the following categories: special jury prize, revelation, alternative comic book, series and audacity. The other selections in the categories Heritage, Fauve Polar SNCF, Fauve des Lycéens x Cultura, Youth 8-12 years old and Youth 12-16 years old are to be discovered on the festival site. Note that the SNCF, a partner of the festival, will exhibit boards and drawings by the selected authors in around forty stations throughout France.

48th Angoulême International Comics Festival – June 24-27, 2021.
