19 young people infected with Covid-19 were discovered in Jūrmala, in Mārupe region – 17, in Salaspils region – eight

Of the total of 442 Covid-19 infections detected last day, almost half were registered in Riga, but the number of infections has also increased relatively rapidly in Daugavpils, Jūrmala and Mārupe region, according to data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

Last day in Riga, 209 new infections were registered and the total cumulative number of cases in the capital for 14 days is currently 2012.

56 new cases have been registered in Daugavpils and the total number of infected persons in the last two weeks has reached 518 people. Last day, 19 new infected people were discovered in Jūrmala, reaching 128 inhabitants in the last 14 days.

17 newly infected people have been registered in Mārupe municipality, reaching 72 inhabitants in the last 14 days.

In Jelgava, 13 more infected people were detected, the total number of cases in the last 14 days has grown to 76 city residents.

Eight new patients were found last day in both Krāslava and Salaspils districts, seven in Liepāja, and six in Valmiera, Ķekava and Talsi districts. A number of infected people were registered in a number of other counties on the past day.

Covid-19 has returned to Pāvilosta municipality, while no new infected persons have been registered in Auce municipality in the last two weeks.

The largest total number of patients in the last two weeks is in Riga – 2012, Daugavpils – 518, Jurmala – 128, Kraslava region – 122, Liepaja – 105, as well as Rezekne – 87 inhabitants.

Of those infected last day, 81 are between 30 and 39 years old, 76 are between 50 and 59 years old and between 40 and 49 years old. Other age groups have fewer cases.
