Rupert Grint, known as Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter films, outnumbered David Attenborough to one million followers on Instagram. On his first post he can be seen with his daughter.

“I’m only ten years late,” Grint wrote in his first post in November. He wanted to introduce the world to Wednesday, his six-month-old daughter, whom his partner Georgia Groome gave birth to in May. That photo was a bull’s eye, it had a million followers at four hours and one minute. That is 43 minutes faster than the previous record holder, David Attenborough, according to Guinness World records. 94-year-old Attenborough started an account in September 2020 to promote his documentary A life on our planet.
Grint completes a list of various public figures who have turned to Instagram in recent years. Jennifer Aniston reached one million followers in October 2019 at five hours and sixteen minutes. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex only had to wait five hours and 45 minutes for a million fans in April 2019, K-pop star Kang Daniel took 11 hours and 36 minutes in January 2019, Pope Francis 12 hours in March 2016. David Beckham took 24 hours in May 2015.
