JAKARTA – Tokopedia’s Head of Engineering, Rico Harisin, shared a number of tips for young people who are interested in becoming developers (developer) the Android system operating system. According to Rico, through an online press conference, Tuesday, there are two things or abilities (skill) essential that any aspiring Android developer must master.
“Skill needed on the team engineering Android, is how we see knowledge about algorithms and data structure, as well problem solving, “said Rico. Furthermore, Rico is of the opinion that these two things can be a guide for developers to work and bring innovations for future technologies.
“Both of them are very important foundations. Because if these two things exist and are mastered, when later we want to learn to make applications for Android, it will be easy, because the foundation is strong,” he added. When asked about how big the market for Android users in Indonesia is, Rico shared data showing that Android has controlled more than 90 percent of the smartphone market in Indonesia.
This makes the use of Android devices a trend as well as an opportunity in the country that can be exploited by actors or technology companies innovating, including by developers. Besides continuing to learn and develop abilities (skill), Rico said that it is important for developers to keep their eyes open to new technologies that can later be explored and developed to make people’s lives easier.
“Continue to explore the latest technology that is useful for society. We really open our eyes to innovation and the need is whether it is useful or not. We never stop, especially for the needs of application users,” he concluded.
