Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš (“New Unity”) has come into contact with a person who has developed symptoms characteristic of Covid-19. The prime minister announced this on the microblogging site on the evening of Tuesday, November 17.
Kariņš has announced that he has taken the Covid-19 test and will go in self-isolation until the results are received.
I have been in contact with someone who has appeared #COVID19 characteristic symptoms. Until I get the test result, I have gone to self-isolation and will work remotely to reduce the risk to my health.

CONTEXT:
So far, several ministers have been isolated or quarantined. Initially, Juris Pūce (“For Development / Par!”) Had to isolate himself, who last week announced the Environmental Protection and Regional Development resignation of the Minister. Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs (“New Unity”) also had to observe self-isolation. Last week, the Minister of Economics Jānis Vitenbergs (“KPV LV”) was also quarantined because he was in contact with someone infected with Covid-19.
During the Covid-19 outbreak in the spring, an emergency situation was declared in Latvia to control the new coronavirus. The situation was stable in the summer, but the morbidity at the end of September fast increased. The government tightened security measures, but the incidence of Covid-19 continued to rise.
In order to limit the spread of Covid-19 in Latvia, the government decided on Friday, November 6, at an extraordinary meeting to re-declare a state of emergency in the country, which will be in force from November 9 to December 6, new stricter restrictions have been introduced during it.
