The situation is now out of control. The numbers of infections speak for themselves. And we must all take note of this.
The health system is now close to collapse and we will soon reach the point where minimum health care services cannot be guaranteed.
We will not be able to cure ourselves for all the other pathologies and our Guardian Angels of health workers, who are working real miracles, will no longer be able to do anything to save us from this nightmare.
The hospitals are now saturated and the staff are running out of strength.
The other pathologies do not go on vacation continue to exist and the health system is no longer able to withstand this massive wave despite the immense work of health workers.
It is not the time to seek responsibility, to make controversies, it is not the time to complain, it is instead the time of Collective Responsibility, to understand that to stop all this we must respect the few rules they have given us and to strongly limit the social contacts.
The time will come when we will understand whose faults are in this whole affair, but now we must all come out of this dramatic situation together.
The time will come when we will return to our life but now unfortunately we must be aware that the situation is dramatic and that as citizens we have no other weapons available.
This virus is undermining the foundations of our social coexistence, it is giving a severe blow to the socio-economic fabric of our country.
Who has not already been in direct or indirect contact with the virus? It is no longer a distant mysterious invisible enemy has entered our lives with all its strength.
We have experienced first hand the physical, psychological and social damage it causes.
We are all in the same boat and we all have to get this boat back to a safe harbor together.
And we can only do it by respecting ourselves, by finding a unity of purpose and by respecting the few rules they have imposed on us.
We respect the rules otherwise it will be too late and we will have nothing more to complain about or to argue about.
Yesterday (editor’s note, Monday) finally there was the proclamation of the elect in Trani.
I am honored to represent my city and I take this opportunity to extend my wishes to the elected colleagues.
A complicated period awaits us in which, in my opinion, we will need to work together to rebuild the socio-economic fabric of our city and our territory.
We must go beyond the fences of politics at this stage we need a close confrontation with all the political forces regardless of the roles that the voters have given us.
The time of the electoral campaign will come, the time in which we will return to discuss, confront and divide ourselves on political positions, but I believe that now is the time for Unity.
