The 100th anniversary stamp of Daile Theater was issued in a circulation of 50,000 copies, while the special envelope was issued in 1,500 copies. The face value of the stamp is
1.00 Eur, and it corresponds to the payment of letter correspondence in the weight category up to 20 grams in the territory of Latvia. The author of the philatelic news design is the artist Ģirts Grīva.

The visual design of the stamp uses the portrait of director E. Smiļģis, taken in 1965 by photographer Gunārs Binde, which was made six months before his death. On the other hand, the envelope shows Daile Theater.

On the day of issuing the stamp, November 19, 2020, Daile Theater will celebrate its 100th anniversary – during the existence of the theater, the brightest artists of their time have always worked there. One of the most outstanding personalities of Daile Theater is its founder E. Smiļģis, who was special with his wide scope and imagination without borders. Together with his contemporaries, he created a new theatrical model with an innovative stage layout and scenery, as well as a specially developed speech and movement of actors.

E.Smiļģis also worked at the Daile Theater as a director and was a long-term artistic director of the theater, as well as played strong and felt roles himself – he was a temperamental, romantic character.
