Will Apple come with a ‘Christmas surprise’ in December?

With the Mac keynote on November 10, Apple hosted its last event of the year. But according to the reliable Apple leaker @ L0vetodream, we can expect something from Apple in 2020. The company would plan to come up with a ‘Christmas surprise’.

Christmas surprise Apple

“You get a Christmas surprise from Apple,” reports the renowned leaker in a cryptic tweet. The surprise is ‘suitable for winter’ and ‘winter-exclusive’, he writes. That is, of course, food for speculation.

Will Apple still come with the new AirPods Studio – which can keep your ears warm this winter? Perhaps a revival of Apple’s 12 Days of Christmas is in the offing, with great apps available for free. Or will Apple finally launch the AirTags, the tracker that prevents you from losing your Christmas gifts?

It’s all possible, but we expect something less sensational: one month free Apple TV+. Watching movies and series with your family is of course typical for your Christmas vacation. It is also winter exclusive.

Last year, Apple also came up with some sort of Christmas present. Anyone with an Apple Card (an Apple credit card) got 6% cashback on Apple products purchased in December. That could of course also be the Christmas surprise that @ L0vetodream is referring to, although we hope not. The Apple Card is only available in the United States, so it is of no use to us in the Netherlands and Belgium.

AirPods Studio as AirTags

The AirPods Studio and AirTags are expected to launch in 2021 – likely in the spring. In the code of iOS 14.3, references found to these future Apple products.

On November 10, Apple presented the first Macs with Apple Silicon chip. It concerned a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini. These are probably the last Apple products of 2020 – but with Apple you never know.
