Barlovento, in Tenerife, will have a free taxi to the suburbs
The Barlovento City Council, on the island of La Palma (Tenerife), will make a free Taxi on Demand service available to the population until December 31 of this year.
The aim of this initiative is to provide transportation service to decentralized areas with scattered dwellings that lack public transportation.
The eastern area will be covered, made up of Las Cabezadas, La Cuesta, Oropesa, La Hoya, La Fajana, Lomo Machín high and low.
This service is offered as the main measure of prevention and social insertion, ending the difficulties of access and the existing inequality in relation to basic municipal services.
It is about the disadvantaged sectors having equal opportunities with regard to social participation.
