In April, De Jong announced that she was pregnant, the day after she was in the news because of a serious car accident. She was a passenger in a car where the driver lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into the railing of an overpass. A doctor in the hospital discovered the then early pregnancy, while she was in a coma. “They found out during my stay in hospital.
