Call of Duty: Warzone has received a 120fps performance boost on the Xbox Series X, but strangely not on the PlayStation 5.
A new update for Call of Duty: warzone seems to have favored one of the next-gen consoles. For example, the Xbox Series X is the only one to receive a performance improvement of 120fps.
Now that the new hardware is out, users are enjoying the power of this new generation. Performance improvements of already released online service games are an important part of this. For example, a secret performance update Call of Duty: Warzone has been discovered. Digital Foundry en Eurogamer discovered the “boost” that makes Call of Duty: Warzone run between 100-120fps on Xbox Series X. In addition, the game has been given a 120fps tag in the Microsoft Store.
It is strange that this adaptation is not promoted and is also missing in the patch description. Even stranger is that Digital Foundry did the same test on the PlayStation 5 and concluded that it had not received a performance increase. Considering that both systems have comparable power, it is special that only one gets this boost and the other does not. Additionally, Sony has a deal with the Call of Duty franchise as far as this is concerned console exclusive additions.
It is not yet clear whether this is an intentional move, but the way it was released is certainly interesting. Hopefully Activision and Infinity Ward will come up with a clarification soon and when / or the PlayStation 5 will get this update.
