As a guest at FV Dresden 06 Laubegast, Lok Leipzig was only able to get a 1-0 victory and a place in the round of 16 of the Saxony Cup thanks to a penalty kick.
Dresden – “It could have been worse”, is probably another positive description for this game: As a guest at FV Dresden 06 Laubegast in the sports complex was able to Locomotive Leipzig only thanks to a penalty from Paul Schinke a 1: 0 (0: 0) and thus to get into the second round of the Saxony Cup.

One scene in particular sparked discussions among the 600 spectators.
The Leipzig team went into this game as the clear favorites. In the third minute, however, Dresden made it clear that they were not at all worried: The hosts briefly increased the pace and suddenly the ball came towards the Leipzig box from around 15 meters.
Midfielder Edvardas Lucenka was able to clear just before the line, but that could well have been the residue. At least Laubegast seemed to want to make it exciting.
“Why not?”, One would like to say at this point, after all, Dresden had made it through the elimination round in the Saxony Cup. There was initially a 7-6 win on penalties against SV Bannewitz.
This was followed by a 2: 1 against VfL Pirna-Copitz and a 3: 2 at HFC Colditz.
You could also dream of a win against the regional league team from Probstheida.
Especially in the first few minutes, the hosts would have had a chance to do so. After the impressive start, Lok seemed to have to find its way into the game for a long time, apparently still struggling with the 0: 5 against Altglienicke last weekend. Instead of building up pressure, however, Dresden concentrated primarily on its defense – and hoped for a counterattack.
The game concentrated more and more on the midfield, which Lok suited. The people of Leipzig found their line more and more and were finally able to turn the tide. From the 37th minute, the Loksche took out one chance after the other almost every minute. Maik Salewskis was followed by a huge chance by Denis Jäpel and Paul Schinke (38th). Then Jäpel again in the 40th, Nico Wermann was fouled in front of the box in the 43rd and Salewski tried again in the 44th.
The fact that Leipzig went goalless into halftime was mainly thanks to Dresden goalkeeper Patrick Richter, who seemed to surpass himself with every new chance and delivered one save after the other.

Fortunately, Lok was able to take the energy of the last few minutes with him into the second half: Tom Nattermann tried after just 70 seconds, but warped, which meant that Richter was not challenged.
The will was there, now only the last cracker was missing, which will burst the knot.
Lok should get that in the 51st – or at least it was like this at the beginning: Heading duel in the penalty area, Dresden’s Robert Scannewin caught Jäpel in the face, who then fell to the ground.
Referee Clemens Biastoch whistled a penalty – and after a brief discussion with the Dresden players decided against it. Instead, it was suddenly called a free kick for Laubegast. Of course, the referee always has the last word in the end, but this decision was more than just debatable.
Leipzig was no longer unsettled by this and kept up the pressure. The Probstheidaer wanted to finally see goals, rushed again and again at the opposing box, Nattermann tried again, but the round just didn’t want to go into the square.
Salvation finally came in the 73rd minute: After a foul on Gabriel Boakye in the penalty area, Biastoch decided on a penalty again. But really this time! Schinke stood at the penalty spot, shot and Richter also held! However, Schinke reacted with presence of mind, followed up and finally the ball was in!
However, the hosts did not seem to want to be satisfied and suddenly offered a decent chance for their part, but it was to stay that way. The locomotive only had to bring the game to an end.
In the end, they did. Lok Leipzig left the field with an extremely disappointing 1-0 at Dresden Laubegast without further incident. The Leipzig team welcome Borussia Berlin as the next opponent in the tennis league game. Kick-off is on Friday, October 16, at 7 p.m. in the Bruno-Plache-Stadion. The next game in the Sachsenpokal is expected to be played on November 18th. A draw will be drawn against whom the locomotive competes.
