Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Megastar Lionel Messi filed two requests to Manchester City to be able to recruit him after leaving Barcelona at the end of the season.
Man City at the forefront of getting Lionel Messi next season after his contract expires in June 2021.
However, La Pulga, nicknamed Messi, still made a request to The Citizens. Quoted from Mirror, Messi wants Pep Guardiola and Sergio Aguero to stay at Man City in order to move to the Etihad.
Both Guardiola and Aguero both have contracts with Man City which will expire in June 2021.
So far there have been no new contract negotiations from the two of them with Manchester Blue. The inconsistent performance of Man City in the last two seasons has opened up opportunities for Man City to be replaced by another coach next season.
Meanwhile, the issue of Lionel Messi going to the Etihad made Sergio Aguero’s position threatened to be kicked out. However, Lionel Messi reportedly wants Guardiola and Aguero to be retained by Man City.
Messi and Guardiola worked together at Barcelona for four seasons, producing two Champions League trophies and three Spanish League titles.
Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero is Messi’s close friend in the Argentina national team. El Chiringuito’s report said that the granting of Messi’s two requests would make it easier for the owner of the 6 Ballon d’Or titles to move closer to Manchester.
Lionel Messi wants to leave the Blaugrana because he is no longer at home at the Catalan club after falling out with Josep Bartomeu. The 33-year-old striker submitted a transfer request to leave Barcelona before the 2020/2021 season started, but Barcelona did not grant him a transfer which made him stay this season.
