Dustin Johnson strengthened his leadership position at the Masters on Saturday. The number one in the world needed only 65 strokes for his third round, seven strokes below average. Defending champion Tiger Woods went round in 72 strokes and seems to be able to forget title progression.
The 36-year-old Johnson even set a record in the prestigious major with a total of two hundred strokes after 54 holes. He thus remains sixteen strokes below the job average.
Johnson still had to share the lead after two rounds, but via five birdies and an eagle he distanced himself from his competitors on Saturday. Mexican Abraham Ancer, South Korean Sung-jae Im and Australian Cameron Smith follow with four strokes to go.
Johnson, the world leader, finished in joint second place last year, behind Woods. He won his only major so far in the US Open in 2016. Johnson has all finished second in the three other majors.

Title prolongation way off for Woods
Woods does not seem to be able to renew his title at the famous Augusta National Golf Club. The fifteen-time major winner needed 72 strokes on Saturday, his highest number of this week. He is therefore joint twentieth.
The 44-year-old Woods registered two bogey’s, although there were two birdies. On Friday and Saturday he had won a total of 68 and 71 strokes respectively.
The Masters at the famous Augusta National Golf Club normally take place in April. Due to the corona pandemic, the tournament was moved for more than six months. There is no public welcome.
