“The signing of the provincial agreement for general medicine is an important step to strengthen the epidemiological investigation activity: general practitioners are involved not only in carrying out rapid antigenic swabs, but also in activities useful for sanctioning periods of isolation and quarantine for the various patients who tested positive“.
With these these words the councilor for health Stefania Segnana welcomed the signing of the provincial agreement with doctors, which applies to the national one of 30 October last. Under the Agreement, alongside the carrying out of rapid antigen tests, general practitioners are delegated by the health authority to issue certificates of isolation and quarantine for suspects and contacts, and related sickness certificates.
A bundle of one pack of rapid antigenic swabs with 20 tests and related PPE, while subsequent distributions will occur at the request of the individual physician using a specific web-form made available by the Company, and within the limits of the quantities received from National Commissioner for the Covid-19 emergency.
Quick swabs will be done in the clinic (by appointment) or in offices made available by the health authority or by the Municipalities, as part of the specific protocol signed between the Province and the Consortium of Municipalities on November 9th.
Quick swabs can be done also by the doctors of continuity of care, in the outpatient clinic (by appointment) and at home, with direct supply by the health authority.
The Agreement also provides that the Province, through Apss, will make available to general practitioners, on free loan, equipment to be allocated primarily to support remote visits and for the improvement of the process of taking care of the clients and in particular for patients with chronic pathologies and frailty. The list of such equipment will be shared shortly with the trade unions concerned.
Certificates and isolation: the new procedures – The Agreement also allows for leaner procedures for the issuance of isolation and quarantine certificates for Covid positives and close contacts.

The isolation certificate is automatically sent to those who test positive for the swab (both molecular and rapid) together with the report certifying the positivity. It is therefore no longer necessary to wait for the Covid central to take charge and sending by e-mail: to download the isolation certificate just access (with health card and swab acceptance code) to the TreC and FasTreC platform (https://trec.trentinosalute.net/home ) or to the TreC_FSE App the day after the swab result.
The isolation certificate will have a standard duration of 21 days from the date of the swab, which will be reduced in case of negative result of the healing swab (scheduled 10 and possibly 15 days after the first test). The certificate of isolation, as well as the report of the swab, will also be visible to general practitioners who will be able to issue it to their patients. Doctors will also be able to issue the quarantine certificate to close contacts of a positive.
Together with the positive swab report, the patient will also receive a series of detailed indications on home isolation of the entire family unit (neither the positive nor the cohabiting family members can go to school, work or leave the home) and on the management of spaces in the house (dedicated room and bathroom if possible, sanitation of the environments and compliance with anti-contagion regulations)
It is useful to remember that any tests done by people who come into contact with a positive can give false negatives (in the absence of symptoms).
Anyone who has come into contact with a positive must still respect the quarantine even if they have tested negative in a quick test.
These days Apss is also working to automate the booking of the healing tampon, as is already the case for the first tampon that can be booked directly by the citizen at the online CUP following the dematerialized prescription of his doctor.
