On Saturday afternoon, two people were killed in an attack in the middle of the street in the French city of Cholet, near Nantes. Several French media report this. A third person is in critical condition.
Two people were killed in the attack, in which the perpetrator allegedly used “a bone or sharp object”. One of them would be in their eighties, it is not clear whether the other victim is that person’s partner.
According to the public prosecutor, one suspect has been arrested, although it is too early to present that man as the perpetrator of the facts, says Eric Bouillard of the Angers public prosecutor’s office. At the moment, the investigators do not assume a terrorist motive.
