2022 World Cup Qualifying Results: Uruguay Beat Colombia 3-0

Uruguay managed to win at World Cup qualification 2022 Conmebol zone. Come to headquarters Colombia, Edinson Cavani et al won 3-0.

Behind two goals, Colombia is not discouraged. Luis Muriel had a chance to keep the pace behind in the 58th minute, but his free kick flew over the net. Three minutes later, it was Alfredo Morelos’ header who had the same fate.

Colombia’s efforts to catch up with the game became increasingly difficult, following Uruguay’s third goal in the 73rd minute. Darwin Nunez’s long-distance kick failed to be blocked by Ospina.

Colombia’s misfortune did not end there. In the 90th minute, Yerry Mina had to leave because he got a second yellow card, after previously receiving a yellow card in the first half. Until the long whistle, the score remained 3-0 for the visitors.

With this result, Uruguay moved up to fourth in the standings with 6 points from three matches. Meanwhile, Colombia slipped to sixth with 4 points from three matches.
