these improvements are coming to your iPhone soon

Apple is rapidly developing new ones iOSversions. Apple already has iOS 14.1 in iOS 14.2 released, but coming soon with iOS 14.3. There are also a number of new functions for the iPhone in iPad, which we list here for you. One of the improvements is the arrival of Apple ProRAW on the latest models, but there are even more visible and invisible improvements in iOS 14.3. These are the new features of iOS 14.3 that you can expect soon.

#1 Apple ProRAW in iPhone 12 Pro
Apple has already announced that Apple ProRAW, an advanced camera function for the iPhone 12 Pro, would become available this fall. The feature has been added in iOS 14.3. With ProRAW you retain the versatility of shooting photos in the RAW format with the accompanying advantages in the freedom of editing, but the photo also looks beautiful thanks to techniques from Apple. RAW photos are known for not giving the best results and that a lot of post-processing is still required. That would not be the case with Apple ProRAW. In iOS 14.3 this was added as a setting for the Camera app. You can read something in our earlier explanation Apple ProRAW is precise.

# 2 Suggestions for third-party apps
9to5Mac discovered that Apple will suggest third-party apps in iOS 14.3 as soon as you install an iPhone. This may be due to new regulations in a number of countries. Apple has been under fire for a while for possible abuse of power, and by offering suggestions for other apps for browsing, emailing, and messaging, Apple can meet the new demands. These suggestions may not be available in all countries as Apple would only do so in countries where it is required.

# 3 Support AirTag and other trackers
Behind the scenes, the Find My app has added support for the AirTag and other third-party trackers. Apple previously announced that it will use the Find My app will open up to third parties, such as Tile. This was not yet available, but iOS 14.3 may be the version where this is possible. All kinds of clues have been found in the code. There is even a video hidden in which an animation can be seen. The app can show all kinds of warnings if you find an object with a tracker. A tracker, such as the AirTag or Tile, is associated with a Apple ID. In iOS 14.3 a whole series of warning messages has been added, for example for replacing the battery, that the owner of the object can track the location and that an object is nearby.

# 4 AirPods Studio reference
Apple has also hidden a reference to the AirPods Studio. There is a AirPods Studio icon discovered in iOS 14.3. The design of this icon corresponds to the previous one leaked design of the AirPods Studio. It is quite possible that iOS 14.3 is already fully prepared for the upcoming headphones, which are expected to be announced in the spring of 2021.

# 5 Support App Clip Codes
Met App Clips you can use part of an app without having to remove the entire app from the App Store need to fetch. There are already a number of apps that use this, for example by sharing a link, scanning a QR code or clicking a button in a website. But there is another way to use App Clips, namely with Apple-designed App Clip codes. In iOS 14.3, support has been added for these special App Clip codes. You can scan it with the camera, after which the App Clip will be installed automatically.

#6 Updates via Woning-app
The Home app will allow you to download and install updates for accessories. At this point, you need an update for one Homekitaccessory via the manufacturer’s app, such as Philips Hue or Eve. In iOS 14.3, it seems to be possible to do this directly through the Home app, if the accessory manufacturer chooses to do so. A message was discovered in the code stating that updates are available for accessories, along with an immediate update button. Not sure yet whether this will be added in the final version of iOS 14.3.

# 7 New default search engine: Ecosia
You can on your iPhone change the default search engine to DuckDuckGo for example. In iOS 14.3, Apple also adds Ecosia. Ecosia is a sustainable search engine that uses 80% of its profits to protect the rainforest. They work together with the World Wildlife Fund for this. The search engine uses the results of Bing for this.

# 8 Support for new game controllers
The update also adds support for new game controllers. From iOS 14.3 you can connect the new PlayStation DualSense Wireless Controller and use it with games from, for example Apple Arcade. Thanks to iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3, the Luna Controller of Amazon’s new cloud gaming service can also be connected to your iPhone of iPad.

# 9 Cardio Fitness Announcements
Code was discovered in iOS 14.3 that indicates a new Cardio Fitness feature of the Apple Watch, in conjunction with watchOS 7.2. The code contains the following text:

Apple Watch can access your cardio fitness, a strong indicator of overall health. To enable estimates outside of a workout, turn on Wrist Detection. Apple Watch can notify you if your cardio fitness reaches a level where you may experience limitations in your daily activity.

You must be 20 or older to use the feature. The notifications are sent from the Apple Watch to the iPhone. It is not clear if this only applies to certain models of the Apple Watch is possible.

# 10 Other improvements
There are a few more small improvements in iOS 14.3:

  • Pregnancy: In the Health app a new pregnancy section has been added.
  • Weather: The Weather app provides health recommendations in support areas if the air quality is insufficient. This is supported in the US, UK, Germany, India and Mexico. Air quality is now also available in China.
  • Fitness+: In Privacy> Analytics and Improvements, a non-working setting for Apple Fitness + has been added. This service will be released in the US at the end of this year.
  • Shortcut for wallpaper: You can with a Siri Shortcuts set a wallpaper for either your lock screen or home screen. Previously this was already in a beta, but it was removed again.

From beta of iOS 14.3 is now available to developers. We expect the update to be available to everyone later this year.
