Zaragoza taxi drivers and the DGA ask the Local Police to control the VTC
Zaragoza taxi drivers have met with representatives of the General Council of Aragon and with the Local Police to ask the agents to control the 80 new VTC authorizations that will be approved and that could facilitate Cabify to operate in the Aragonese capital.
The DGA has a period of five months to pronounce, although, they will have to approve it by court order.
“We can not deny them,” acknowledged this Friday the Minister of Mobility of the DGA, José Luis Soro.
Last week, the Executive received the documentation for 80 VTC licenses from Ares Capital, the company that works with Cabify.
Ares Capital, requested a meeting with the regional government to start serving in Zaragoza, a meeting that will take place in the coming weeks.
The legislation
In the event that they start operating, they would have to comply with the regional decree approved last year, which requires hiring vehicles 15 minutes in advance and not attracting customers on public roads, something that they do not comply with in other cities such as Madrid , Barcelona or Seville, where they park in the streets waiting to pick up a ticket.
