A research firm has listed all kinds of insights about smartphone sales and manufacturers from the third quarter of this year. It was noticeable that devices in the Galaxy A line from Samsung were the best sold.

Samsung Galaxy A21s popular in third quarter 2020
A top ten of the most sold smartphones of the past quarter has been drawn up by a research firm Canalys. This shows that five out of ten devices are from Samsung. After that Xiaomi follows, of which three smartphones have sold well. Last but not least is Apple, of which the best-selling devices were the most sold.
The iPhone 11 and iPhone SE sold 16 and 10 million copies. In third place is Samsung’s first smartphone, the Galaxy A21s. In addition, there are another four Samsung devices in the top ten, namely the Samsung Galaxy A11, Galaxy A51, Galaxy A31 and Galaxy A01 Core.
In the order mentioned, slightly more than 10 million, 10 million, 8 million, 5 million and 4 million units have been sold respectively. It is striking that they are all devices from the Galaxy A-line of the manufacturer. These are generally affordable smartphones that have a lot to offer.

Other notable smartphone sales
In the third quarter of 2020, 348 million devices were shipped, 1 percent less than the same period last year. However, that is 22 percent more than the second quarter of 2020. Samsung sold 2 percent more smartphones, a total of 80.2 million units and thus pushed Huawei off the throne.
That manufacturer therefore took second place and sold 57.1 million devices. Xiaomi also entered the spotlight for the first time. That Chinese manufacturer grew by 45 percent and delivered 47.1 million devices last quarter. Apple delivered slightly fewer smartphones than before, simply because the iPhone 12 was not presented in September and was for sale. Vivo is the last of the top five, shipping 31.8 million smartphones.
