Fireworks trade: politically abused virus for outright ban | Inland

“We know that our care is under pressure and more than 2 million people report to the Emergency Room (A&E) every year. We also know that only 385 of them are fireworks related. And we also know that if you pick up the injuries caused by illegal and recently banned fireworks, there is not much injury left ”, as can be read in the advertisement that is an initiative of the Belangenvereniging Pyrotechniek Nederland (BPN).

According to the fireworks trade, a fireworks ban will not solve the problems in society and the pressure on healthcare. “Some parties have wanted the general fireworks ban for years, a partial ban does not go far enough. And now they can abuse the corona virus for this. ”

The traders warn in the ad that “more and more serious injuries and pressure on care because people turn to more dangerous illegal fireworks.”

In the ad, the traders say sorry. “Sorry that politicians are misusing the figures. Sorry the police will not be able to enforce the ban. Sorry about the increase in illegal fireworks. Sorry that the ban does not reduce the pressure on healthcare and sorry that we do not provide a bright spot at midnight.
