The Altmittweida municipal council decided on the budget for 2021 at its meeting on Monday evening. The municipality wants to start implementing the planned projects early next year. The investment measures and other important key points have been discussed in the committee since June. The decision on the budget was unanimous. “Free Press” presents the numbers.

Key data: According to the head of the finance department, Anke Kluge, income of a good 2.9 million euros and expenses of around 3.1 million euros are set. According to Kluge, these sums include, among other things, amounts for depreciation. With the cash balance, she expects a slightly positive result, i.e. with slightly higher deposits than withdrawals. The surplus should be used for investments. According to the plan, a total of almost 250,000 euros will be invested in the coming year. The budget also includes money from the community’s savings and the investment in key allocation as well as subsidies. Altmittweida does not want to take out loans. The place has been debt-free since 2010 and wants to stay that way, said Kluge. Investments: Around 90,000 euros are to flow into the rehabilitation of the municipal road network. However, it remains to be seen whether a section of the Rosenweg will actually be renewed, as it has been in the draft budget charter, or another street. In the opinion of some of the Councils, this measure does not have a clear priority. The municipality intends to spend a total of 65,000 euros to support the construction of a riding hall, equip the outdoor pool with a photovoltaic system and improve the lighting of the sports fields. More than 37,000 euros are to be made available for the renovation of two apartments in houses on Clemens-Fritzsche- and Hauptstraße. The list of plans also includes the purchase of breathing apparatus and equipment for the fire brigade. The costs for this are around 18,000 euros, of which more than 6,000 euros are subsidies. The community also wants to invest in day-care centers, elementary schools and construction depots. Subsidy for daycare centers: According to Kluge, childcare is the biggest item in the household. Subsidies and depreciation add up to almost 531,000 euros. The costs for the staff are expected to amount to around 982,000 euros. The finance department plans around 90,000 euros for material costs and services. For its part, the municipality expects almost 400,000 euros from allocations and levies, and 170,000 euros from parental contributions. Other editions: A total of 98,000 euros are planned for five repair measures. Altmittweida wants to spend 63,000 euros on maintaining local roads. The combing estimates 12,000 euros for work on the sidewalk on the main road. The remaining money is to be used for repair and renovation work on the bowling alley in the sports park, work on the roof of the daycare center and for painting work in the school. Assignments: Since the financial strength, especially from taxes, is lower than the local financial needs, the municipality receives key allocations from the municipal financial equalization scheme. Kluge assumes around 86,000 euros in general and 11,000 euros in investment key allocation.

Tax income: The tax revenue of around 1.64 million euros in total, which the municipality expects, is to flow into the fund mainly from the municipality’s share of income tax and trade tax. The income from income tax is estimated at around 685,000 euros. For the trade tax, the finance department calculates at 577,000 euros. That is more than originally planned this year, but less than the municipality will actually receive this year, said Kluge. A decrease is also planned for income tax due to the corona. The municipality’s share of sales tax is expected to bring in around 105,000 euros, which is 15,000 euros less than this year. Property tax B accounts for around 250,000 euros and property tax A for around 21,000 euros. Tax rate: The assessment rates for taxes should not be changed. They are therefore still 400 percent for trade tax and 350 percent for property tax A. Property tax B, which owners of residential buildings pay, also remains at 450 percent.
