The Umbrella Academy Gets Third Season On Netflix | NOW

The Umbrella Academy returns for a third season, reports The Hollywood Reporter Tuesday. Production of the next ten episodes will begin in Toronto, Canada, in February.

Lead actors Ellen Page (Vanya), Tom Hopper (Luther), David Castañeda (Diego), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison), Robert Sheehan (Klaus), Aidan Gallagher (Number Five), Justin H. Min (Ben), Ritu Arya (Lila Pitts) and Colm Feore (Sir Reginald Hargreeves) will all return for the series’ third season.

Initiates tell The Hollywood Reporter that a third season was already certain, as the show would have secured a two-year extension after its strong debut in 2019.

Gerard Way, the writer of The Umbrella Academy, has eight new comic books planned as source material for the rest of the series. The author, who became known worldwide as the singer of the American band My Chemical Romance, would like to see Netflix follow his plan. Way and The Umbrella Academyillustrator Gabriel Bá are involved in the series as an executive producer.

The series follows Vanya, Klaus, Luther, Diego, Allison, Ben and Number Five, who were adopted as children by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves. The children have two things in common: they were all born on the same day without the mother initially appearing pregnant, and they each have a special gift.

When the third season can be expected on the streaming service has not yet been announced.
