Video of a TNI soldier reciting takbir and saying ‘We are with you High Priest Habib Rizieq Syihab‘viral on social media. Kodam Jaya clarified this.
Pgs. Kapendam Jaya Colonel Inf Refki Efriandana Edwar said the video was made by Indonesian Army soldiers while on their way to carry out security duties (Pam) vital objects of Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta). The soldier who recorded was Kopda Asyari, a member of Yonzikon 11 Kodam Jaya.
Refki says the video was recorded on the way to Soekarno Hatta Airport to provide security before Habib Rizieq’s return. Kopda Asyari departed from the Yonzikon 11 Matraman unit in Central Jakarta using an NPS military truck and sat in the back of the truck with his colleagues.
“At 10.00 WIB when passing Jalan Jatinegara, East Jakarta, the person concerned takes / records a video and provides comments on a different task from the task given by the Command for securing vital national objects of Soekarno Hatta Airport,” he said.
Refki said Kopda Asyari’s actions were a violation of the order of military life. The soldier will be subject to disciplinary action.
“In the system of military life, the soldier’s actions are clearly against the law as stipulated in article 8 letter a of Law number 25 of 2014 concerning Military Discipline Law and will be subject to sanctions according to the level of his guilt,” he said.
The video is 17 seconds long. In the video circulating, it appears that TNI soldiers are sitting in the back of the truck.
The video recorder says “On the way of the airport, preparations for the security of Grand Imam Habib Rizieq Syihab. We are with you Grand Imam Habib Rizieq Syihab. Takbir, Allahuakbar!”.
