Paweł Majewski becomes the new president of PGNiG

The former president of Lotos, Paweł Majewski, was elected by the supervisory board of Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo as the president of the management board of the company on Tuesday, PGNiG announced on Tuesday. The company is the largest importer and supplier of natural gas in Poland.

Paweł Majewski was appointed president of PGNiG for the term of office ending on January 10, 2023. Until now, he was the president of Grupa Lotos. He held this position from February 3, 2020.

Prior to taking up the position in Lotos, Majewski was in managerial positions, incl. at Petrolot (now Orlen Aviation), and at PGNiG Termika – a company from the PGNiG Capital Group. In the past, he worked in companies such as KGZ, Żywiec Trade, Projekt Kapitałowe, and Intacto Centrum Debutacji. He was a member of the management board of Do & Co Poland, vice-president of the management board of Huta Stalowa Wola and president of the management board of Airport Cleaning Service. He was also a member of the supervisory board of Jelcz and ZEM Łabędy.

Jerzy Kwieciński resigned from the management of PGNiG in October

PGNiG is a listed company, listed on the WSE since September 2005. It deals with the exploration and production of natural gas and crude oil, gas imports, and – through its subsidiaries – storage, sale and distribution of gaseous and liquid fuels and the production of heat and electricity.

In Poland, PGNiG is the largest importer and supplier of natural gas. 71.88 percent shares are owned by the Treasury, the remaining 28.12 percent. to other shareholders. The company’s capitalization, according to the share price from Tuesday, is almost PLN 28 billion.
