AWhen Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu offered to resign in April because of errors in combating the corona pandemic, thousands of his supporters were on the streets in just a few minutes. It helped. president Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not accept Soylu’s resignation, and he returned to the cabinet strengthened. After all, Erdogan and the AKP need Soylu, as it covers the nationalist wing and stands for Law and Order. When Soylu’s adversary in the cabinet, Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, offered to resign on Sunday evening, nobody took to the streets out of solidarity. But many fingers were stirring. That same evening, Turks had more than 600,000 likes on social media where his resignation was circulating.
