All new Hyundai, Kia and Genesis will receive AI support

Hyundai’s press service has announced that all upcoming Hyundai, Kia and Genesis models from 2022 will be equipped with Nvidia Drive infotainment systems as standard.

Nvidia Drive, Hyundai explained, is a combination of hardware and software that will enable connected car services in multimedia systems with support for audio, video, navigation, communications and artificial intelligence. Several features of this platform are already used in the Genesis GV80 and G80 models.

Hyundai notes that the connected car operating system (ccOS) will integrate the massive data streams generated by the vehicle and its embedded sensor network, as well as external data centers. This should lead to the creation of “a more pleasant and comfortable information space for the driver and passengers.”

Models with Nvidia Drive will be able to receive new features after purchasing the car. They will be updated throughout their entire life cycle and will use the latest digital cockpit technology.

The system will work with Nvidia graphics accelerators to process large amounts of data coming from the car itself and its surroundings. Regardless of whether the vehicle is in online or offline mode, its services must run smoothly.

In addition, ccOS will enable “the provision of intelligent, personalized services through the correct determination of the driver’s intentions and well-being,” and will also be protected “by monitoring internal and external networks, and isolating data related to vehicle safety.”

Hyundai also announced that it is working with Nvidia to jointly develop a state-of-the-art digital cockpit, which will debut in late 2021.
