The Valencian Community has registered seven deaths and 902 new infections from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the highest figure since the start of the pandemic, according to data provided by the Ministry of Health.

In this same period, 23 outbreaks have been detected, more than half in the city of València, and others in Torrevieja, Castelló, Callosa de Segura, Aspe, Paterna, Gandia, Ibi, Castalla, Orihuela and Banyeres de Mariola.



The Valencian Community has registered 902 new coronavirus infections confirmed by PCR test since the last update, which puts the total number of positives at 25,028 people. By provinces, the distribution is as follows: 78 in Castellón (2,736 in total); 237 in the province of Alicante (7,685 in total); and 584 in the province of Valencia (14,603 in total). Additionally, there are still 4 unassigned cases.

The councilor, Ana Barceló, has made a new appeal to citizens to achieve the collaboration of all in the fight against Covid-19. “Stopping the virus requires an individual commitment from each and every one of the citizens who must take their part in the fight against the pandemic. If this is not the case, we will not be able to control the transmission of the virus ”, highlighted the health minister.

On the other hand, 593 patients with coronavirus have been discharged, so the total number of people cured since the start of the pandemic stands at 26,177: 3,240 in Castellón, 8,198 in Alicante and 14,676 in Valencia. In addition, there are 63 unassigned discharges.

Valencian hospitals currently have 376 people admitted: 34 in the province of Castellón, with 7 patients in ICU; 111 in the province of Alicante, 15 of them in the ICU; and 231 in the province of Valencia, 25 of them in the ICU.

Thus, there are currently 5,965 active cases, which represents 17.72% of the total positives.

On the other hand, they have registered 7 deaths from coronavirusTherefore, the total number of deaths amounts to 1,517 people: 227 in the province of Castellón, 523 in that of Alicante and 767 in that of Valencia.

The total number of tests carried out for the detection of the coronavirus amounts to 829,284, of which 687,091 have been through PCR and 142,193 through rapid test.

Update of the situation in residences

To date, there are some positive cases in 42 residences for the elderly (3 in the province of Castellón, 19 in the province of Alicante and 20 in the province of Valencia), 6 residences for people with functional diversity (1 in the province of Alicante, 2 in the province of Castellón and 3 in the province of Valencia) and 2 centers for minors (1 in the province of Castellón and 1 in the province of Valencia).
