Marking the return of the emergency, the group “Židrūns” is releasing the song “Vai?”, The group representatives informed. The song was made during the first emergency with thoughts: “Isn’t this the time we cried out?”. The group’s new album “Židrūns kovārņu grandbērniem” has been released and published on the Internet.
According to the musicians of the group “Židrūns”, the ban on declaring a state of emergency and organizing cultural events means for culture and music lovers and authors not to meet, to distance themselves from each other. “But it’s good that there are music recordings, which is perhaps an emotional salvation,” the musicians say.
This year, the band’s latest album “Židrūns” has been made, and one of the themes covered in the songs is this time – beautiful, ugly and unexpected in it.
In the song “Vai?”, Which “Židrūns” offers to the listeners’ attention as the second single from the new album, the words are:
“Isn’t this the time we cried out?
When do factories come in because producing is dangerous?
When you run through stores, because dangerous,
When is a pop concert in the stadium dangerous? ”
The album “Židrūnas for Cowards’ Grandchildren” is available on record, digitally and on streaming sites. The album was released by I Love You Records.
The studio recording contains 11 songs and compositions created jointly by “Židrūna” members Anrijs Korps, Ritvars Bīders, Klāvs Kalnačs and Ulvis Urtāns. The lyrics were composed by Židrūns G., the author of the group’s staff lyrics, and the peers of the group members – poets Toms Treibergs, Raibīs and kikōne (1984–2006). An exception is the composition “Zaķītis”, where a text written by the artist Kārlis Padega (1911–1940) is performed.
The album was recorded, mixed and post-processed by Ģirts Laumanis or Lomiks. This was done in August and September 2020 at the sound recording studio “Hodila Audio” in Valmiera. The artistic presentation and design of “Židrūns for cowards’ grandchildren” was created by Otto Zitmanis. The recording and release of the album has been supported by the State Cultural Capital Fund.
