Prof. Tomasz Siemiąkowski, attorney at Robert Lewandowski, spoke about the high-profile conflict between the captain of the Polish national team and Cezary Kucharski. In his opinion, the former agent formulated blackmail against the football player twice.
The dispute between Kucharski and Lewandowski has been going on for a long time, but in recent weeks it has entered a completely different phase. First, the agent filed a lawsuit against the Bayern striker, from whom he is demanding PLN 39 million in connection with the activities of RL Management. Soon after, Lewandowski submitted a notification to the prosecutor’s office. The footballer believes he is being blackmailed.
The evidence is the recording of his conversation with Kucharski. During it, the agent mentioned the amount of EUR 20 million. When the Polish representative inquired for what, Kucharski replied that “for this – in two sentences – that I will hide for the rest of my life that you and your wife are tax frauds.”
– You have to distinguish two things. The criminal thread is a notification of a crime committed by me on behalf of Lewandowski. The prosecutor’s office shared our position. Lewandowski has the status of an aggrieved party in this case. This has nothing to do with the case in which Kucharski filed a lawsuit. We didn’t get it anyway – admitted prof. Siemiątkowski in an interview with TVP Sport.
Lewandowski’s lawyer explained that the article in “Der Spiegel”, which described the alleged tax crimes of the footballer, was a realization of threats made by Kucharski. In his opinion, the agent’s claim that the Bayern striker manipulated him is untrue.
– Kucharski formulated blackmail twice – in September 2019 and January 2020. He did it identically – the amount and the message are the same. The reference to Mr. Buschmann of “Der Spiegel” is identical. The words are slightly different. Thus, we refute the myth that is getting through to the public that Lewandowski led Kucharski to use the words he used – said prof. Siemiątkowski.
– Lewandowski waited a long time, because he did not believe that the man he worked with would be able to blackmail him. Lewandowski was very upset by these threats, it upset him and his wife. However, he did not assume that anyone could carry out these threats. When he saw the article in Der Spiegel, he decided he had to defend himself – added the lawyer of the captain of the Polish national team.
– This is not the situation Lewandowski wanted. The answer why it happened is in the week of “Der Spiegel” and the implementation of threats. Let’s cut this off from Kucharski’s lawsuit. We are able to talk to him, but so far no one has contacted us – summed up prof. Siemiątkowski.
