Sony provides PlayStation 4 consoles with a PS5 Remote Play app. Users who own both consoles will be able to stream PlayStation 5 games to their PlayStation 4. That goes up to a 1080p resolution.
The app has options to stream in 540p, 720p and 1080p, reports Eurogamer. Users must activate Remote Play on the PlayStation 5 in the system settings to use the feature. You can then stream to other devices. That works with the PS Remote Play software, which is available for Android and iOS, Windows and macOS.
Sony is now also releasing an app for the PlayStation 4, so that users can use that console to control a new PlayStation 5 remotely. This can be useful if PS5 owners want to play a game on that console in a different room than where the console is located. However, it is not yet clear whether all games will be playable. The DualSense controller is currently not supported by the PS4 and some new games require that controller.
