Just like in previous years, Deceuninck-Quick Step has achieved the most victories in the special cycling season 2020. Remco Evenepoel and Sam Bennett had the largest share in the 39 victories that Patrick Lefevere’s team achieved.

Evenepoel gave the team a total of nine victories until he fell in the Tour of Lombardy and broke his pelvis. The Belgian rider already had the overall victories in the Vuelta a San Juan, Volta ao Algarve, Vuelta a Burgos and Tour de Pologne, in which he always won one stage – even two in the Algarve. Bennett achieved seven successes, including in the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España.

Julian Alaphilippe also won a stage in the Tour; the Frenchman was also the winner of the Brabant Arrow. With the Cadel Evans Road Race (Dries Devenyns), Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne (Kasper Asgreen) and Bruges-De Panne (Yves Lampaert), even more important one-day races were won. In the four monuments, the team missed the main prizes. Also in the Giro d’Italia was not won; João Almeida was fourth in the standings.

A total of fifteen different riders in the Deceuninck-Quick Step outfit won. In addition, Alaphilippe became world champion in Imola in the French jersey.

‘Keep on fighting and believing’
“We have a saying: The Wolfpack never gives up,” said team manager Patrick Lefevere in a press release. “We showed this again this year – perhaps the most challenging year for the team ever. We encountered many hurdles, from the pandemic that turned everything upside down to the many injuries that ravaged our team. But we kept fighting and believing to get the best out of every situation. ”
