The Active version has meant pseudo-terrain equipment for Ford in recent years. This is a sheathed version of a common model, which is better to handle unpaved roads when the customer decides to go off the tarmac.

No wonder even the smallest crossover from Ford got the Active version. EcoSport received additionally modified bumpers, sills and fenders. All these parts are now protected by plastic. New are also cast wheels with a size of 17 inches. Ford does not mention the specific change in ground clearance.

As far as motorization is concerned, let’s not expect a surprise from EcoSport. It is possible that Ford will want to sell the off-road crossover only with a more powerful engine than the ST-Line version, but even so, the engine will not change. As with the regular version, it will be a three-cylinder 1.0-liter EcoBoost with a six-speed manual and an output of either 100 or 125 hp.

In addition to the engine, the EcoSport Active version has also changed in the interior, where an eight-inch infotainment display, electrically folding mirrors and tinted glass are standard. The off-road model also received eco-leather seat upholstery.
