The arrests come after the commissioner of the New York Police, Dermot Shea, warned on Tuesday of a policy of “zero tolerance” for violent acts after the presidential elections.
“To all New Yorkers: there are a multitude of police in the streets and there is going to be zero tolerance (in the face of eventual riots),” Shea said in statements to the media.
