More than 300 detainees protested in Minsk / Article / LSM.lv

In Belarus, the opposition is staging a protest against the Lukashenko regime in Minsk on Sunday.

According to the human rights organization Vyasna, militia detained more than 300 people in Minsk and other cities on Sunday.

The participants of the protest action gather in the area of ​​Freedom Square.

Prior to the campaign, armored vehicles, water jets and jeeps, and fencing fences were brought to the center of Minsk, as well as a large number of security guards.

Protests against the rigging of the presidential election have continued in Belarus since 9 August.

According to the official results of the presidential election in Belarus on August 9, the current head of state Lukashenko won 80.1% of the vote, and the opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovska – 10.1%, but the opposition believes that the election results are fake and Tikhanovska has won the election.

The European Union and other Western countries have also refused to recognize the election results.
