JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD spoke up in response to the declaration of the Indonesian Muslimin Syuro Assembly (Masyumi) by a number of Islamic figures.
According to her, Masjumi Party Declaration is not prohibited because it is not a prohibited party.
“Some have declared their stance Masjumi Party. What can I do? Of course you can. Because first Masyumi is not a forbidden party, but rather the party that Bung Karno asked to disband, “he explained Mahfud in a statement on his Twitter account, @mohmahfudmd, Sunday (11/8/2020).

Unlike the PKI
This is different from the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) which was declared banned by the government.
