The same evening, the Rotterdam police came to a report of a wedding in a club building in the IJsselmonde district. The windows were taped and it soon became apparent why: when the door opened, it turned out that there was a wedding party going on with too many guests.
There were 35 people inside, while due to the tightened corona measures a maximum of twenty people are allowed to come together at a wedding. In addition, the partygoers kept no five feet away and no masks were worn. Agents have immediately ended the wedding. Offenders can expect a fine.
In workshop and allotment complex
In Mill in Brabant, police officers had their hands full with a corona party at a workshop on Lijsterstraat, where dozens of people were partying inside. 34 people have been convicted for violating the corona rules.
Later in the night an illegal party was stopped in Amsterdam in an allotment complex in the north of the capital, reports AT5. Ten of the approximately thirty people present would have received a print. In Southeast at least fifty people were fined who had gathered together in a shed on the Lemelerbergweg.
Update 10:30 am – OMT Member: Don’t relax too soon after partial lockdown
Even when the partial lockdown ends in mid-December, we will have to take into account tougher corona measures compared to last summer. Virologist and OMT member Menno de Jong adjusts this on Sunday AT5.
“We have to look very carefully at what can and cannot be done and not just let go of everything, as in the summer,” says the virologist at the Amsterdam UMC. “We shouldn’t go from sprint to sprint. We have to take into account that it is a marathon. ”

The OMT member thinks that there was too much relaxation afterwards last summer. “Then you see how quickly things can go, even in the summer, when the conditions are not favorable for the virus. That could go faster in the winter. “
Temporary relaxation at Christmas?
Big Christmas parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations are therefore not an option, says De Jong. “I would appreciate it if at Christmas temporarily something more could be done and family could see each other and enjoy a Christmas dinner together.” But after that, according to him, we will “really have to get back to work”.
The virologist therefore thinks that certain corona measures will continue to be necessary, regardless of the basic measures. He refers to the cabinet’s roadmap. “It is really intended as an escalation ladder, relaxation is not the reverse of the roadmap. Good decisions have to be made. ”
