ZAANSTAD – Director Jasper Otting has been put on non-active by Big Gym, after leaked that he would have asked staff to complain to the municipality about corona measures taken by competitors. Otting is said to have been frustrated by the fact that their gyms were extra checked in his eyes. For example, Big Gym gyms in Zaandam and Wormerveer were inspected closed.

From Telegraph wrote this morning about an email Otting allegedly sent to his staff. In it, Otting called on staff to pose as new members at Basic Fit and Fit for Free, among others, and then submit complaints to the relevant municipality: “Tell them that you feel unsafe because more than 30 people are in the club. “
The letter prompted the management of Big Gym to throw Otting out on the street. “The management distances itself completely from the e-mail. We as Big Gym do our utmost to comply with all corona measures every day and to guarantee the safety of everyone. The management of Big Gym absolutely does not want us to interfere with how others do all this “, the management said in an email to staff and the press.
Call not answered
According to the management, Otting’s call would not have been followed up by any staff member. “In addition to the email, we also called all business leaders to tell them that we absolutely do not support that email,” said a spokesperson.
Otting has recently stood up several times for the locations in Zaanstreek-Waterland. These were namely by the security region closed after a check showed that more than 30 people were present in a room. The management indicates that the many inspections have led to Otting’s anger. The subsequent mailing and call, however, were sent without consultation with the management.
