The tactical RPG game King Arthur: Knight’s Tale achieved its Kickstarter goal and raised enough funds for an official announcement.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a dark fantasy game in the XCOM style, and therefore there are enough fans and connoisseurs of the genre around it to support the project with public money.
This game differs in that here all the roles are reversed: you play as Mordred and must stop Arthur’s dark forces from devastating the lands. In fact, the legendary King Arthur became undead as he rose from the dead and began to commit atrocities.
The game is dark and gray, somewhat reminiscent of the gothic style of the good old Disciples 2, and the enemies here are emphatically grotesque and perversely terrible. But in addition to battles, you will be able to manage your lands and Camelot, recruiting the knights of the Round Table on your own.
In fact, the developer done the game even before it even started a fundraising campaign: Kickstarter was a way to close a deal and spread the word, like the infamous Larian team did the same.
Development of King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is almost complete, it won’t be long to wait. The game should be released in early 2021, and the beta version promises to launch this month.
