From next Saturday, new trade restrictions will apply throughout the country. They concern the limitation of the activities of shopping malls and large-format stores. The ban was not supposed to cover, inter alia, furniture stores, but at the last minute this exception disappeared from the regulations.

Due to the growing number of coronavirus infections, the government has decided to introduce new restrictions. The restrictions concern, among others trade.

From Saturday, the trade ban will apply to commercial or service facilities, including retail parks, with a sales or service area exceeding 2,000 square meters. At the same time, the regulation provides for exceptions.

Furniture stores are closed
The ban does not apply to stores whose predominant activity consists in selling, among others, food, cosmetic products, medicinal products, newspapers or books, construction or renovation articles.

As a result, stores such as Ikea, Agata, Black Red White, with a sales area of more than 2,000 square meters, will be closed from Saturday.

Ikea and Agata are closing stores
Ikea has posted information on the closure of stores on Twitter. “According to the government’s decision, as of tomorrow, 11 IKEA stores will be closed to customers. Yesterday, the government’s draft regulation assumed that we would be open. The regulation published today before 19 has changed its content” – we read in the entry. At the same time, representatives of the network encourage online shopping.

The representatives of the Agata chain also informed about the changes. “Dear customers, according to the regulation of the Council of Ministers of November 6, 2020, our stores are temporarily closed, but you can make purchases remotely or by phone without leaving your home” – we read in the post on Facebook.
