The Secret Service began this Friday to increase the number of agents that protect the Democratic presidential candidate of the United States. According to the Post, the new agents are heading to Wilmington Convention Center (Delaware), city of residence of the Democratic candidate and where members of the Biden campaign are awaiting the results of the count in the key states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina and Arizona.

Biden adds 264 delegates to the Electoral College (although some media question Arizona’s 11), while Trump has 214. Both need a minimum of 270 to win the election. If the results give victory to Biden, automatically the Democratic leader plans to address the nation, a moment for which the Secret Service wants to be prepared.
Biden received protection from the Secret Service for six months after leaving White House, where he served as vice president of Barack Obama between 2009 and 2017. The code name that the Secret Service gave him then was “Celta” (“Celtic” in English), a name that he has used again during this election campaign, according to what they told CNN in March two accounts familiar with the matter.
