Johnny Depp has to leave Fantastic Beasts after defamation losses | Show

Johnny announced on Instagram today that film studio Warner Bros has asked him to leave. ‘And I have respected that request and I agree,’ the actor writes. Who will succeed him in the third part of Fantastic Beasts is not yet known.

The actor had sued the newspaper for libel because he was called a “ woman swatter ” in a 2018 article. A judge ruled that on Monday insufficiently proven that the article speaks of libel and that Johnny did assault his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp is grateful for all the support he received during the case and after the verdict. “I feel humbled and touched by your many sweet messages and concerns, especially the last few days.”
