On November 12th and 13th, the Hochschulforum Digitisierung (HFD), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) will present the DigiEduHack, a global hackathon on innovative solutions for current challenges in digital education. Under the motto “Together we redefine learning,” the event brings together over 60 initiatives from over 30 countries who want to shape the future of digital education together within 48 hours.
The two-day Main Stage Event will be broadcast live from Berlin as part of the German EU Council Presidency. As an online live event, this main event offers an inspiring program with top-class speakers from politics and education who offer insights into all important aspects of digital education: from school education to higher education to lifelong learning. In addition, the Main Stage Event offers a virtual stage and platform for exchange, networking and interaction with the hackathon participants. Topics such as the effects of Covid-19 on education in schools and universities and the potential of hackathons for new ways of collaboration and co-creation of innovative ideas will be discussed. In addition, the European Commission will present the new Education and Training Monitor at the Main Stage Event.
At the opening ceremony on November 12th at 10 a.m. there will be video contributions from Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and Federal Minister of Education Anja Karliczek. The event will be moderated by Mitri Sirin (ZDF).
