Help for the soul in the Karlstadt health center

It is not a group practice, but a community practice to which the psychotherapists Blanka Foth, Dr. Andreas Reichert and Madeleine Rüth have merged. This means that all three work independently of one another, but in rooms that are rented together. They have moved into the second floor of the former Karlstadt district hospital in Gemündener Strasse, where they each have their own treatment rooms.

Blanka Foth treats adults aged 18 and over. Andreas Reichert and Madeleine Rüth dedicate themselves to children and young people up to 21 years of age. On Friday they presented their practice group on a small scale.

1.5 seats out of four in Main-Spessart

Reichert referred to the corona pandemic. This not only has social and economic consequences, but also psychosocial ones. The number of people with anxiety and depression is increasing. Statistically, one in five adults will experience such fears and depression in the course of their life. In the case of children, every tenth child is actually in need of treatment.

The proximity to the place of residence is important for the treatment. Many would have to go to Würzburg, Schweinfurt or Aschaffenburg. He was happy that the admissions committee of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians gave the new practice community 1.5 seats ?? of the four intended for the Main-Spessart district. Although the practice had not yet gone public, appointments were made until the beginning of 2021.

For the emerging health center, the practice is a good extension. One will be able to support each other in short ways. The joint appearance of behavior therapy for children, adolescents and adults is unique in the area. Together, the three practitioners would have a significant number of additional qualifications such as trauma or group therapy, Reichert said.

Hombach: A huge asset for Karlstadt

Mayor Michael Hombach congratulated on the opening. The community practice is a huge asset for Karlstadt. For the investor Beethoven Group, Martin Kütt confirmed the importance of the Karlstadt location. The way to Würzburg is too far for patients from the Sinntal, for example.

Blanka Foth explained that it is often the cause of certain ideas about life that lead people to practice with her. “In every society there are certain strategies and some are overwhelmed with them.” Eating disorders, for example, are particularly common in affluent countries. Schizophrenia, on the other hand, is roughly equally distributed around the world.

Andreas Reichert went into more detail on the problem of the Corona time. There are patients with a social phobia who, for example, do not dare to order a pizza in a restaurant or give a presentation. For such a lockdown is an additional hurdle because they suddenly lose a lot of “exercise opportunities”.

Appointments in the new community practice are assigned by agreement.
