DJI announces new minidrone with extended range and 4K recording | NOW

Dronemaker DJI has a successor to its Mavic Mini announced. The new drone is called DJI Mini 2 and, according to the maker, flies more than twice as far as its predecessor.

In optimal conditions it is possible to fly with the drone up to 10 kilometers. The first Mavic Mini covered a distance of 4 kilometers. The difference in range is due to DJI’s OcuSync 2, a wireless connection that promises greater distances and a more stable connection. At 31 minutes, the drone flies one minute longer on a battery charge than the previous model.

With the DJI Mini 2 you can shoot images in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. The highest resolution on the Mavic Mini was 2.7K. It is also possible to film in 1080p at 60 frames per second.

Furthermore, it is now possible to take pictures in RAW format instead of just jpeg. More information is stored in this format, so that photos can then be edited more easily without loss of quality.

Nothing has changed in the appearance of the drone. She is still the smallest drone from DJI, weighs 249 grams again and uses the same controller for control. The DJI Mini 2 is for sale immediately and costs 459 euros.
