Infratel, the public company headed by Ministry of Economic Development which is managing the technical procedures for the disbursement of the PC and Internet bonus of 500 euros, has officially announced the date from which it is possible to request the contribution: let’s go Monday 9 November. Infratel itself has also published an addition to Annex A of the Operating Manual which, as the company itself explains, is aimed at “resolve potential operational criticalities reported“.
The new document specifies better some information regarding the minimum speed that the telephone operator must offer in order to pay the bonus to the customer, the speed measurement method and, finally, also regarding the supply of the tablet or PC necessary for the connection. We remember, in fact, that gods 500 euros provided by the bonus only 200 are intended to cover the costs of connecting to fast Internet, while the remaining 300 are used to pay for the hardware needed to connect. We also remind you that telephone operators are obliged to offer the customer complete connection and hardware packages.
PC and Internet bonus, what changes for speed
The first change, or rather the first clarification, inserted in theAnnex A of the Operating Manual concerns the minimum connection speed offered: now both a minimum speed is specified for the download, equal to 30 Mbit / s nominal, both the one forupload, pari a 15 Mbit/s.
In this way the operator must offer a better and sufficient connection to surf the net at good speed “in both directions“. The value of the upload, in a period of boom in videoconferencing and of smartworking, it is by no means to be underestimated when choosing the connection.
The speed of the connection, then, can be measured not only with the service “Measure the Internet“(Also managed directly by the Ministry of Economic Development) but also with the widespread speed test di Ookla.
PC and Internet bonus, what changes for tablets and computers
Many will also like the second clarification of Infratel, which clearly wrote that after 12 months from the activation of the contract made with the 500 euro Bonus, the tablet or personal computer provided by the operator will remain the property of the customer.
