RUMAG boss reveals how much the Lubach riot cost the company

Arjen Lubach has again regularly succeeded in making high-profile items in 2020. He went fight conspiracy thinkers, filed the corona testing policy in quarreled again with Thierry Baudet. Still, none of these are the most memorable Sunday with Lubach item. That honor goes to the story about RUMAG.

At the beginning of this year, Arjen Lubach didn’t let this company wholly. In the meantime, that storm has subsided and RUMAG boss Danny Membre looks back on this battle for 30 MINUTES RAW in the NPO2 podcast. For those who have now forgotten what was going on, just a small summary:

Arjen Lubach versus RUMAG

At the end of March, Arjen Lubach came up with an item about the Red Cross action of RUMAG. According to the host of the satirical news show, this one was a lot less likable than they seemed. RUMAG would above all earn a lot of money itself. This prompted Arjen Lubach to take a more critical look at RUMAG and discovered that the company mainly earns money from other people’s ideas. The aftermath was also pretty severe. RUMAG came up with a counter-reaction, but Arjen Lubach also had this a sharp answer. In the meantime, other companies and celebrities have also opted for one of the two camps. Dunkin ‘Donuts stayed behind RUMAG and even lashed out to Lubach. In the meantime Bram Krikke opted for camp-Lubach en even decided to sue RUMAG. As a result, tempers were running high and that cost RUMAG CEO Thijs van der Heide even his job.

The storm has now died down. Everyone has had time to think about what happened. Also RUMAG boss Danny Membre. Ruud de Wild invited him to his podcast 30 MINUTES RAUW and asked him how he now looks back on all Zondag with Lubach-rel.

Danny still believes that RUMAG was tackled too hard by Arjen Lubach, but also puts his hand in his own bosom: “Arjen Lubach has had a point. Let me put it this way. We did have to look at ourselves. What went wrong and why did this happen? But the way it was put down, it wasn’t like that. We were treated way too hard for what was going on. ”

In the podcast Danny talks about the origins of RUMAG, what their goal is and what has changed since the Zondag met Lubach item. He also reveals what the RUMAG has cost. Ruud de Wild immediately asks him whether they have lost more than a million euros. Danny indicates this is probably the case. Of course he is disappointed, but he is also grateful to Lubach: “He (Arjen lubach) made us look at ourselves and that has improved the company internally and the culture. We have rectified the mistakes that were there, ”says Danny. He adds that he is disappointed that Lubach played it so hard.
