KPN activated e-SIM subscriptions for existing customers on Wednesday. That made the provider known on his forum.
An e-SIM is a digital version of a common SIM card. The difference is that you no longer need a physical card in the phone. An e-SIM can also be used in addition to a physical SIM card and it is easier to switch providers.
Existing customers can activate an e-SIM directly via MijnKPN. For new customers it will take a few weeks before the e-sim can be ordered.
A suitable telephone is required to use e-SIM. More and more (new) devices offer this option.
KPN is the last major provider in the Netherlands to offer e-SIM. T-Mobile activated it for customers last year and Vodafone followed in June of this year.
