Dozens of times, Chinese fighter jets hit Taiwan’s air defense zone

KONTAN.CO.ID – TAIPEI. Monday (2/11), eight Chinese fighter jets and spy planes violated Taiwan’s air defense identification zone.

Quoting Taiwan News, according to Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense, one Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft, one Shaanxi Y-8 reconnaissance aircraft, two Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets, two Shenyang J-16 fighter jets, and two Chengdu J-10 fighter jets. break through ADIZ Taiwan.

This is the third largest number of Chinese aircraft that violated ADIZ Taiwan since last September 16.

In response, the Taiwan Air Force dispatched fighter jets to intercept Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force aircraft. Also, Taiwan provides radio alerts and monitors aircraft movements with its air defense missile system.

Each of the Shaanxi Y-8 aircraft broke through ADIZ Taiwan on separate occasions. Meanwhile, a pair of Su-30, J-16, and J-10 fighters each flew together on separate missions.

This brings the total of PLA Air Force violations at ADIZ Taiwan on Monday (2/11) to five times. All the intrusions took place in the Southwest of ADIZ Taiwan, a sea area close to the Dongsha Islands.

Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said Monday’s incident marked the 32nd time that PLA Air Force fighter jets violated Taiwan’s ADIZ since September 16.
